Diary of a Popsicle

"November, you'll be getting into Spring and warmer weather," they said. "Sure, that time of year you should have no trouble tent camping," they said. Oh, and by the way, it was the coldest October on record since 1945 and November is not shaping up to be too much warmer. It's been pretty much freezing at night in the tent and the wind has made it a bit more adventurous than I'd like, but we're hanging in there. When the sun comes out during the day, you really appreciate the warmth.

We've been heading down the East side of the South Island and are now in Invercargill for a couple of days to do laundry and catch up on email before heading into the Fjordlands. The scenery has been spectacular so far and we are looking forward to some of the walks on the West coast. Since we're heading North, I'm hoping it will warm up a bit over the next few weeks. If not, there's always Singapore.
