Baden Means Bath

We rented a great apartment in Vienna just outside the city center, but unfortunately something went wrong with the gas lines in the building two days ago so we've been without hot water. Ironically, we decided to skip a day trip to Baden, Austria, in favor of a spa day in Baden, Switzerland, in a couple of weeks. Ice cold showers two days running has been refreshing if not as cleansing as is optimal when traveling. The apartment does have a bathtub so we're going to try heating some water on the stove to take a bath this evening.

Vienna has been very nice so far. We shopped, dropped in on a festival in the park, day tripped out to Bratislava, and plan on hitting the museums tomorrow. It's off to Olomouc, Czech Republic, on Friday, then Prague to round out the weekend.

What's Going on in Vienna?

We're planning to stay in Vienna, Austria, for five nights May 10-15, but are having a heck of a time finding a hostel or apartment that is in our price range and not already booked. I searched the events calendar and noted the Vienna festival is the same week, but can't imagine that's the cause for everything being booked. We'll keep trying.
